Continuity Cares Volunteer Effort Seeks Assistance to Help Rebuild New Orleans

Here’s to a great cause…

Continuity Cares is a volunteer program to be held at the conclusion of the upcoming 2008 Continuity Insights Management Conference, where dozens of attendees will get involved in various clean-up and rebuilding efforts throughout New Orleans. Last year’s campaign included the clean-up and repainting of a New Orleans East firehouse, a bookroom at Lake Castle School, and the rebuilding of a cancer-victim’s residence.

“Continuity Cares is an event that will help to attract individuals and corporations with a spirit toward helping rebuild this great area”, states Robert Nakao, Executive Publisher of Continuity Insights, manager of the conference. “With the support of our sponsors and volunteers, we look forward to helping in any way we can,” he adds. Continuity Cares will be held on May 8-9, 2008, on the two days following the conclusion of the Continuity Insights Management Conference.

As the entire Gulf Region continues its recovery efforts from the 2005 hurricane season, there is still much left to accomplish and continuing support is very much appreciated. “These volunteers will devote their time and labor on various projects, and although most lack any construction experience, it pales in comparison to their desire to help and make a difference,” says Nakao. The tentative 2008 volunteer projects include school playgrounds, libraries, classrooms, and City of New Orleans fire stations. For those who cannot physically volunteer, monetary donations are also needed for purchases such as paint, brushes, landscaping tools, plants, and other necessary supplies and materials.

Co-sponsors of Continuity Cares 2008 include Continuity Insights magazine, RP Risk Advisors, the Sheraton New Orleans, the New Orleans Recovery School District, and Edwards Disaster Recovery Directory.

Good luck all!
