 By now many of you have already seen the IDC report stating that Microsoft has started to grab a significant market share of the virtualization industry; a statistic that was greatly disputed by the industry leader VMware. And any analyst group, Gartner, Forrester or IDC all predict a significant growth of data centers implementing virtualization in 2009. According to a Forrester research statistic approximately one third of x86 servers were virtualized in 2008 which still leaves the other two thirds which much is believed will be virtualized in 2009. It just goes to show the rapid adoption of the virtualization technology and the ever increasing need to migrate servers that are only utilizing a fraction of their processing power.
